My New Year's Prayer For You

Dear Lilly Ponder:

We have a new year ahead of us. Many of us will have joyful events and good news. Many of us will suffer heartache and tragedy. There is no way to know and I think that is a blessing. As we rounded the corner last year to 2001, none of us could have begun to imagine what would happen in September last year. But what we can know is that God loves us with a love that will not let go. And that regardless of what happens in our personal lives, in our communities or in the world, God is still on his throne. As we look to the new year and we all make our plans, remember this verse in Jeremiah 29:11:

"For I know the plans
     I have for you,"
     declares the Lord,
"Plans to prosper you
     and not to harm you,
"Plans to give you hope
     and a future."

May the Lord bless you richly with His plans this year.
